Welcome Back!
I hope you enjoyed the first episode!
In this second episode I took a familiar YouTube Format (Day in the life, Daily Vlogs) and applied it to Athena's life!
I thought long and hard about what a day in the life of Athena would look like and decided that it would spend a lot of time in the library doing research and being the wise woman she is. So i needed to come up with an alternative as i thought that watching Emily Porritt (Athena) Walking through the library picking up books and making notes from them for 3/5 mins wouldn't make for especially avid watching. Athena therefore needed a push in order to go into the outside world, enter Apollo!
I also thought that a Day in the life would be a good way of introducing all the gods in a flash planting the seeds for them reappearing later. Therefore i had to film Emily running around the uni campus and singleton park, plus sitting on the sand. (My tripod has only just recovered! :D )
Again there's not a lot on Mythology involved as i thought it best to focus on bringing the audience into the world of the Greek Gods before throwing Mythology at them. (Don't worry that get's started Episode 3)
In this episode i introduced Poseidon and Artemis (Darren Scott and Lauren Jenkins) Poseidon was introduced (where else) by the sea. Poseidon and Athena have a well known and documented rivalry so i wanted to have moments of them being friendly and caring towards each other. It's with Poseidon that Athena comes up with her plan to teach Apollo a lesson, this was because Poseidon is well known for his plans for revenge and justice.
Artemis gets introduced because of her brother, Apollo, I knew that Athena's revenge plan would wind up Apollo and he would need to vent at someone...his sister. Artemis and Apollo in Mythology are both extremely close and at odds in various points. In my adaptation Artemis has Apollo's back but knows he can be an arrogant person most of the time. As a sibling i tried to base their relationship in reality and you'll see more of their relationship in a later episode almost entirely devoted to it! (Something to look forward to!)
So i hope you enjoyed watching the episode and if you have any comments, questions etc please feel free to ask via the contact us section.
