Episode 6 - The Contest

Episode 6 is devoted to retelling the origins of the Trojan War so once again i will tell you the original tale!
The woman who in my retelling buys the drink for the most beautiful woman is actually Eris, Goddess of rivalry (pretty apt!)
She turns up to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis uninvited (gasp!)
When she gets turned away she throws a golden apple inscribed with 'For the Fairest' it lands between the goddesses Hera, Aphrodite and Athena who all lay claim to it saying that they were the most beautiful.
Zeus who didn't want arguments among the Gods and made Hermes take them to Paris in order to get him to judge the contest.
The Goddesses all set out to prove they were the most beautiful by bribing him!
Hera, said she would make him King of all men, In my adaptation she said she would buy him a drink
Athena, said she would bring him glory in battle, my version had Athena offer him the opportunity to beat him at pool
And Aphrodite promised him Helen of Troy's hand in marriage, in my version she offered him Helen's phone number
Paris chose Aphrodite and took Helen and thus began the Trojan War.
