This Episode is a retelling of The Trojan War!
So i'll be walking through the episode to explain all the in jokes etc that i included.
The Episode starts with Ares bursting in on Athena as she is trying to do a video.
Ares, being the God of War i thought was a good God to include in this episode.
The episode picks up where the last one left off explaining the importance of Aphrodite's actions at the end of episode 6. When Aphrodite set up Helen and Paris it put into motion the events leading up to the Trojan war. When Ares said that "Zeus had blocked him on H Book" So that he couldn't interfere this is a parallel to when during the beginnings of the War Zeus banned all Gods from taking part in the war in order to stop it getting out of control. Athena disobeys this and makes things slightly worse (depends on the account you read).
In the Episode Zeus, comes in to tell Athena off because She "didn't handle it" Zeus informs Athena that Menelaus has found out about the situation. In Mythology, Menelaus' wife Helen was taken/left/whisked away by Aphrodite (there are differing accounts) and Menelaus with help from some of his friends goes after her ready for war. When Athena is joking with Zeus in the episode and calls him Dad as a joke this is a reference to the fact that in Mythology Zeus is actually Athena's dad. Another small joke i included was when Artemis is catching Athena up on the events of the "war" Athena jokes that things will stay heated for 10 years, this is a reference to the fact that according to sources the Trojan War DID last 10 years!
Ares comes in to announce the end and then after writing that line i realised i had to write an updated version of the Trojan Horse. Most people are familiar with this but for those that aren't i shall quickly tell the story. So... Odysseus, Hero and #TeamMenelaus has the idea of the Trojan Horse. Odysseus is a favourite of Athena, hence the teasing that Aphrodite does about him, Athena likes him because he tends to use his brain before brawn. Odysseus instructs people to pack up to look as if they have given up the fight, meanwhile people are building a massive wooden horse. They Roll the horse to the Gates of Troy and leave it there. The Trojans, thinking they have gone off home, open the gates and accept the Horse as a present! They bring it into the city and leave it there. In the dead of night Odysseus and other soldiers burst out from within the horse and kill a lot of people bringing the war to an end!
